Swivel Inflator Range
For Back Mounted Counterlungs
Single Swivel Inflators – Diluent & Oxygen
The Single Swivel Inflators for Inspiration rebreathers with back mounted counterlungs are a new and improved design replacing the previous solid manual inflator blocks.
They are designed so that the inlet and outlet blocks move independently, pivoting around a central point with the ability to rotate through 360°.
This has several advantages. First, it allows the feed hoses to be routed so that they lie flat against the diver without protruding or putting strain on the hose.
The second and key advantage is that it allows multiple hose routing options for the gas feeds. For example, hoses can be routed in the conventional way, over-the-shoulder; they can be routed under-the-armpit (to off-board cylinders for example); or if the inlet connector block is rotated forward, another gas can be plugged in from side-mounted or deco-station cylinders.
Upgrade for Existing Owners
The Swivel Inflator can be retrofitted to all existing Inspirations with BMCL. The diver can use their existing hoses if they swap around the one feeding into the counterlung so that the knurled female connection end attaches to the new inflator block outlet and the 3/8th UNF male connector attaches to the new AP35S low profile inlet elbow (shown here) - included with the upgrade kit - which replaces the current counterlung inlet elbow.
Dual Swivel Inflators – Diluent & Oxygen
Available for both oxygen and diluent sides, the dual inflator has two inlet blocks allowing two truly independent gas supplies to be connected to the inflator block at the same time.
Both top and bottom inlet blocks pivot through 360° allowing hose routing from all directions - over-the-shoulder, under-the-arm or from the front or below to side-mount, deco-station or dive buddy cylinders.
Upgrade for existing owners:
The Dual Swivel Manual Inflator can be ordered with new units or retrofitted to all existing Inspirations with BMCL.
Single Inflators with Shutoff Valve
Single Oxygen Inflator with Solenoid Shutoff
The Single Oxygen Inflator with GC3R (Flowstop) Shutoff Valve allows the Solenoid to be quickly and easily isolated.
When performing a Diluent Flush cell check shutting off the Solenoid prevents the addition of oxygen as the PO2 drops. It is also useful in the very rare event that the solenoid fails open and needs to be isolated. With the Solenoid shut off the diver can still add gas manually and monitor the pressure in the oxygen cylinder in the normal way.

Single Diluent Inflator with ADV Shutoff
The Single Diluent Inflator with GC3R (Flowstop) Shutoff Valve allows the ADV to be quickly and easily isolated.
For example, if the diver prefers to control the diluent manually during the middle section of the dive, the ADV can be simply isolated after the initial descent.
With the ADV shut off the diver can still monitor the pressure in the diluent cylinder in the normal way.

Reversed Flowstop
Note: all of the AP Swivel Inflators with Shutoff are supplied with a new Flowstop (GC3R shown here) which differs from a regular AP GC3 Flowstop in that the OPEN/CLOSE slider is reversed.
This configuration is recommended by AP for several reasons: first, it makes closing the valve a positive pull-up action and second, if the locking strap gets accidentally dislodged the valve ‘fails-open’ in the open position rather than closed.
Dual Inflators with Shutoff Valve
Dual Oxygen Inflator with Solenoid Shutoff
The Dual Oxygen Inflator with GC3R (Flowstop) Shutoff Valve combines the advantages of both the double inflator and the shutoff valve models.
The bottom swivel inlet rotates to offer hose routing from any direction, allowing an independent oxygen supply to be plugged into the same inflator from on-board, side-mount or buddy cylinders.
